Hope Family Wines

Hope Family Wines is one of the trailblazing wineries that helped usher in the modern winemaking era in Paso Robles.

Owner-Winemaker Austin Hope grew up in Paso Robles as the son of winegrowers Chuck and Marlyn Hope, from whom he inherited his love and respect for the region. Chuck and Marlyn began planting vineyards here in 1978. The Hopes later helped spearhead the creation of the Paso Robles AVA and the formation of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance. In 1996, Austin Hope led the family into winemaking and never looked back.

Hope Family Wines today spans six brands that exemplify the quality and diversity of Paso Robles: Austin Hope, Treana, Quest, Austin, Liberty School and Troublemaker. A common thread among the portfolio is a passion for Paso Robles-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varieties.

The namesake Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon was launched starting with the 2015 vintage—helping propel recognition for Paso Robles as a world-class region for Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, the Austin Hope label continues to gain global recognition as a standard bearer for luxury Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon.

A watershed moment came when successive vintages of Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon were ranked among the top 10 wines for two straight years in the “Enthusiast 100,” featuring the Wine Enthusiast’s annual picks for the best 100 wines from around the world.
